Frequently asked questions

Where are my recordings saved?
Finished clips are written straight to your iOS Photos library — look in the Recents album or the dedicated Trinity Camera album once iOS creates it. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.
How do I add a custom LUT?
Trinity Camera supports .cube LUT files. Open the LUT in Files (or any app that can share to Trinity Camera) and choose Open in Trinity Camera. Once imported, the LUT shows up in the Grade tray next to the built-in looks. LUTs are stored on-device only.
How do I use the teleprompter while recording?
Tap the script icon to open the teleprompter editor, paste or type your script, and press done. Start recording and the script scrolls automatically directly under the front camera so your eyes stay locked on the lens. You can adjust scroll speed, font size, and margins on the fly from the live overlay.
Why doesn't 4K at 60 fps appear as an option?
The available resolutions and frame rates are determined by the camera you currently have selected. High-frame-rate 4K is only exposed on devices that support it (for example the iPhone 17 Pro front Ultra Wide sensor). Switch cameras in the Format settings to see the modes available on the active device. If a mode you expect is missing, send us the device model and iOS version and we will investigate.
Can I record in Apple Log?
Yes — on devices that support it. Open Settings → Format → Color Space and choose Apple Log (or Apple Log 2 on supported hardware). Pair this with a 10-bit codec like HEVC or ProRes for full grading headroom in post.
Does Trinity Camera upload my videos anywhere?
No. All capture, processing, and storage happens on your device. The only data Trinity Camera sends off device is anonymous diagnostics and analytics — never your recordings, scripts, or LUTs. See the privacy policy for the full breakdown.
The front camera preview looks mirrored. Is that normal?
Yes. The on-screen preview is mirrored so you can compose like a mirror. The recorded file is not mirrored — it captures the scene as the lens sees it, which is what your audience expects.
How do I report a bug from inside the app?
Give your iPhone a quick shake. Trinity Camera will pop up a feedback widget where you can type a description and attach a screenshot. The report is sent straight to our engineering team along with the diagnostic context we need to reproduce the issue. You can also turn shake-to-report and screenshot inclusion off in Settings → Feedback.
Which iPhones and iPads are supported?
Trinity Camera requires iOS 18 or newer. The full feature set — including the portrait-grip landscape capture path and Apple Log 2 — is built around the front Ultra Wide square sensor on the iPhone 17 Pro family. Older devices still get the core camera, teleprompter, and LUT pipeline.

Before you write to us

Including a few details up front lets us reproduce most issues on the first reply instead of the third.

  • Device model.e.g. "iPhone 17 Pro" or "iPad Pro M4".
  • iOS version. Found in Settings → General → About.
  • Trinity Camera version. Tap Settings → About inside the app — the version and build number are at the bottom.
  • Steps to reproduce. The exact sequence that triggered the issue, ideally with the format, frame rate, and color space you had selected.
  • A screenshot or screen recording if the issue is visual. The in-app shake-to-feedback gesture already attaches one automatically.
